WESTCHESTER CLUBHOUSE FOR THE ARTS

A holistic environment that supports mental health recovery by focusing on an individual’s strengths and abilities, building skills to regain independence rather than just manage symptoms.

We are not just starting a program. We are building a community.

This effort is led by members themselves, people who know firsthand that recovery does not happen in isolation. Like the original group known as We Are Not Alone, whose shared commitment gave rise to Fountain House, we are carrying forward the most essential truth of the Clubhouse model: when people are needed, valued, and connected, lives change.

What we are building in Westchester is not a service for people, but a community with people, one grounded in dignity, contribution, and belonging. It is a proven, human-centered approach that strengthens individuals, families, and the broader system.

At its core, this work is simple: creating a place where a person can say and know,

I am not alone.

Our mission is to save lives, restore dignity, combat isolation, create employees and to build a restorative, non-clinical community where members and staff work side-by-side to support one another in employment, education, housing, wellness, and social connection.

TARGET POPULATION

Adults living with serious mental illness in Westchester County, including individuals experiencing isolation, underemployment, housing instability, medical coverage instability or limited access to meaningful community life. Who We Are

We are an occasionally merry  band of Fountain House members who built a new clubhouse, one unlike any other. We are in the process of building our brick and mortar location much like Fountain House, a mental health clubhouse. but we haveput strong emphasis on cultivating the arts and our relationship to nature.

About

The Westchester Clubhouse for the Arts is an innovative special needs clubhouse for people with disabilities and SMI. Created for the purpose of helping  residents of Westchester, Fairfield and Putnam counties, especially artists and writers,  recover from serious mental illness and hone and promote their artistic talents.
